Ward’s permission mandatory to keep dog at home in Bhaktapur



BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur municipality has made it mandatory to take permission from the respective to keep a dog as a pet.

Those willing to keep a dog as a pet at home have to file an application at the respective ward asking for the permission.

Presenting a policy and program on the seventh municipal assembly on Sunday, Mayor of Bhaktapur municipality Sunil Prajapati said a ward’s permission is mandatory for keeping a dog as a pet animal.

It will be effective from the coming fiscal year 2020/21

This policy has been adopted after world heritage site, municipal’s thoroughfare, streets and roads were found littered with dogs’ excreta, informed Prajapati.

“Stray dogs, cattle, pigs, goats will be controlled to ensure sanitation in Bhaktapur municipality,” added Prajapati.
