Coronavirus kills 94, 918, infects 1,591,252 in USA



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 1,385 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 94, 918.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 20, 669 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,591,252 as of Thursday morning.

Currently, 1,126, 277 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 17, are810 critical.  Meanwhile, 370, 057 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 28, 816 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 10, 747 and 6,066 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 329,180 and infecting 5,079,  896 people as of Thursday morning.
