Mega projects resume work amid lockdown



BHOJPUR: Development works in different mega projects have been initiated in Bhojpur district by considering safety aspects of the workers despite the ongoing lockdown in the wake of COVID-19.

The decision to resume works was taken after the government approved operating mega projects by applying security measures.

The District Administration Office stated that the laborers involved in the projects are prevented from going out while people from outside are not permitted to enter into the site.

Chief District Officer Basanta Raj Puri informed that all required supports are provided in coordination with concerned local levels in case of any disruption in the projects.

The construction work has resumed for bridges over Kawa river, Pikhula river, Siktel river and Ari river, according to the District Administration Office.

Likewise, Irkhuwakhola hydropower project, Taksar-Pikhuwakhola hydropower project, Chirkhuwa hydropower project and other projects are continuing their construction jobs amid the lockdown.

The vehicles being used for the supplies of construction materials are given pass while the workers have maintained social distancing along with their health tests, Puri added.

However, the construction works of Mid Hills Highway is yet to resume for absence of the workers.
