TIBET: China has built a 5G station on Mt Everest. It has set up 5G base station at 5,000 meters above sea level, capable of delivering crystal-clear footage of Mount Everest via Livestream.
China Telecom is filming images of Everest 24/7 and broadcasting them live in 4K HD complete with a 360-degree rotating view.
The images are proving popular online and are being distributed from a 5G broadcast station at an Everest base camp located at a height of 5,000 meters.
Similarly, according to Global Times, China Mobile and Huawei jointly opened three 5G stations at Mt Everest base and transition camps 5,300 meters and 5,800 meters, a spokesperson of China Mobile said. The download speed of the 5G network is 1 Gigabyte per second.
Similarly, another two 5G stations are to be set up at the 6,500-meter-high advanced camp, which will cover the summit of Mt Everest.
These stations, based on non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) networks, will be the world’s highest 5G base stations.
Liao Hongfeng, a spokesman for China Telecom, confirmed that it was the highest 5G station in the world and that they had installed two sets of cameras with one showing the camp itself and the other showing the mountain.
