NC postpones membership distribution

KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress has postponed the distribution and renewal of the active membership of party till mid-April.

The preparatory works of the 14th general convention of the party was halted in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and its possible menace in the country.

The spokesperson of the party, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, said, “NC has already postponed big gathering and conferences. Now, the distribution of active membership and renewal has been postponed.”

With this, the party has decided to launch a massive awareness campaign on how people could remain safe from the Covid-19 pandemic. The party cadres and local level leaders would be mobilized effectively for it, said Sharma.

Various media would be utilized to raise awareness. However, NC’s central office would remain open.
