PM Oli holds talks with his copper-bottomed lawmakers including ex-Maoist leader Bhatta

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held a meeting with the lawmakers of his faction at Baluwatar on Monday morning.

Over 100 lawmakers of the now dissolved parliament and central committee members of Oli faction were present in the meeting. Only Industry Minister Lekhraj Bhatta who represents former CPN (Maoist Center) took part in the meeting.

Earlier, a Standing Committee meeting of the ruling NCP on Sunday, in which Prime Minister and leaders of his faction were absent, decided to take a disciplinary action against the prime minister. The SC’s decision would be taken to party’s central committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

The leaders of Dahal-Nepal faction registered a no confidence motion against Oli following the SC meeting yesterday.

Oli held a meeting with the lawmakers and leaders of his faction after the NCP that garnered almost two thirds majority three years ago headed towards the brink of split.

Similarly, lawmakers of Dahal-Nepal faction are holding a gathering at 1 pm today. The meeting will take place at the Lhotse Hall of the parliament building in New Baneshwor, said a lawmaker.
