KATHMANDU: The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) is holding an all-party meeting at its central party office in Sanepa at 4 pm today.
The meeting will dwell on the latest political scenario in the country created after the Prime Minister Oli-led government dissolved the parliament and announced the date for a mid-term poll, said NC’s Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
Leaders of ruling NCP, Janata Sawamwadi Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party represented in the parliament are participating in the all-party meeting, according to Paudel.
Prachanda-Nepal faction and opposition parties are dissatisfied with Prime Minister Oli following the dissolution of the parliament.
They have taken strong exception to the Prime Minister’s move to dissolve the parliament terming it ‘unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people’.
An emergency meeting called at Baluwatar by Prime Minister Oli on Sunday recommended the President to dissolve the parliament.
President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the parliament at the recommendation of the cabinet meeting and announced the fresh date for the mid-term poll on April 30 and May 10, 2021.
