Ex-King Birendra’s residence Shree Sadan to open for public from Sunday



KATHMANDU: Are you willing to view former King Gyanendra’s private residence Shree Sadan?  The government is making preparations to keep Shree Sadan located on the premises of Narayanhiti Palace open for the public from Sunday.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai will officially inaugurate the opening of Shree Sadan at 2 pm on Saturday and the people in general will be allowed to view it starting Sunday, informed Bhesh Narayan Dahal, Executive Director of Narayanhiti Palace Museum Development Committee.

Former King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya, daughter Shruti and son Nirajan used to stay at Shree Sadan. Shree Sadan has been closed since royal massacre that took place on June 1, 2001.
