District presidents asked to send details of NC active membership

KATHMANDU: As part of the upcoming 14th National Convention, the Nepali Congress (NC) has directed the district presidents of the party to submit the details of new active members and their renewal within mid-December.

The directive comes in line with the NC central working committee meeting decision taken on November 13, NC central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said.

The district working committees should submit the details including documents and membership fees by completing all processes as per the party statute.

The number of NC active members, which has a key role in selecting the party’s leadership, is almost 500,000. The party stated that the number of active members could rise after new distribution, renewal, and some others joining from different political parties.

The NC has already announced the schedule for the party’s 14th national convention from coming February 19 to 22.
