Three including an octogenarian die from COVID-19 in Rupandehi and Sunsari

KATHMANDU: Three more coronavirus-infected people including two in Rupandehi district have  died in the country in the past 24 hours.

A 55-year-old woman died in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Insitute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

Originally from Gadhi rural municipality, Sunsari, the patient died at 9 pm on Tuesday, according to Ashish Shrestha, the deputy spokesperson for the hospital.

She had been admitted to the hospital after testing positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

She had also been suffering from hypertension, according to the hospital.

Similarly, two more coronavirus-infected persons in Butwal have died while undergoing treatment at the COVID-19 Special Hospital in Butwal.

A 47-year-old man from Devinagar of Butwal Sub-Metropolis-11 and an 81-year-old man from Motipur of Ward No. 17 died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The 47-year-old man who was admitted to the hospital on October 10 died at 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dr Vishnu Gautam, Spokesperson at Hospital informed.

He also had high-blood pressure, and he was treated on a ventilator as his condition worsened.

Similarly, the 81-year-old man who was admitted to the hospital after the corona infection was confirmed on October 13 died at 5 am on Wednesday, said Dr Gautam.
