5,743 fresh cases propel Nepal’s COVID-19 tally to 1,44,872



KATHMANDU:  Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 1,44,872 as of Wednesday afternoon after 5,743 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwor altogether 20,118 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 2,996 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 99,605 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 68.7 percent, he added.

Nepal currently has 44,476 active cases, he said.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 14676 people are in institutional isolation and 29,800 others are in home isolation facilities.

Likewise, 4,035 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

Similarly, he said that 269 infected ones are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 87 on ventilator support.

Likewise, 26 people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 791, the Ministry confirmed.
