Oli, Prachanda discuss cabinet reshuffle



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli and Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on Monday discussed Cabinet reshuffle.

Oli and Prachanda got engaged in conversations at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar after the party’s Secretariat meeting held at Perisdanda on Sunday decided in principle to reshuffle the cabinet.

Prachanda’s press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota Jugal said that the Chairmen discussed agendas of the Secretariat meeting slated for tomorrow.

The Secretariat meeting held on Sunday had discussed four agendas— cabinet reshuffle, constitutional and other political appointments, remaining work of organizational unity and miscellaneous.

It is reported that leaders Bishnu Poudel, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Pampha Bhusal and Janardan Sharma are in the line to be ministers.

Apart from these, the names of Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam and Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha and Standing Committee Member Devendra Poudel are also being discussed as new ministers.

It should be noted that the SC meeting held on September 11 had made decisions on various issues including the government’s performance, party organization, a general convention of the party, border disputes, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), terms of reference of two chairmen, coronavirus control and prevention among others.

The Secretariat meeting is expected to implement the decisions.
