Police in Sunsari nabs culprit in hide for 19 years



SUNSARI: Sunsari police has arrested a culprit involved in an attempted murder after 19 years of the incident from Sundar Hareicha Municipality-6, Maheswormarga.

According to DSP Dharma Raj Bhandari of District Police Office Sunsari, Prem Moktan, 37, aka Fataha Kanchha of Moran Sundar Hareicha-6 Maheswor Marga has been nabbed from his locality by the police.

Moktan had attacked Roshan Chaudhary, 39, with a knife, in Paradise Restaurant and Pool House in a transaction dispute on April 17, 2001.

“After getting clues that Prem Moktan who had assaulted Chaudhary causing a serious injury to him in 2001 was living secretly in the village during lockdown, police reached in his locality and arrested him,” DSP Bhandari said.

According to police, another alleged in the incident Ramit Moktan, 39, is absconding.
