Coronavirus death toll crosses 80,000 in Brazil

KATHMANDU:  The death toll from the coronavirus in Brazil has crossed 80,000 in the last six months. According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the death toll has reached 80, 251 after 718 new deaths were reported.

With new 21,749 cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 2,121,649 so far.

Currently, 603,990 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8,318 are critical. Meanwhile, 1,366,775 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China on December 31, 2019, the Coronavirus has spread to 13 countries including two international conveyances, killing 613,146 and infecting  14,851,246 people so far.
