Nepal witnesses partial solar eclipse (in pics)

KATHMANDU: Nepal has witnessed a partial solar eclipse on Sunday.

This partial solar eclipse begun from 10:50 am on Sunday, entered into the middle stage at 12:38 pm and will last until 2:23 pm.

According to the Calendar Determination Committee, the eclipse lasts for 3 hours and 33 minutes. Astrologer Jayanta Acharya shared that 98 percent of the sun can be seen eclipsed from Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani area of Nepal. These territories are recently incorporated in Nepal’s political and administrative map.

However, the sun can be seen 88 percent covered by darkness in the Kathmandu Valley.
