Rape-convict dies in Central Jail



KATHMANDU: An elderly person serving a jail term for rape case in Sundhara-based Central Jail has died.

The deceased has been identified as Dil Prasad Rai, 82, of Udayapur, according to Sushil Kumar Yadav, spokesperson of the Metropolitan Police Office.

He died while being taken to Bir Hospital for treatment on Saturday night.

Rai was sentenced to a 13-years imprisonment on rape-charge. He was in the prison for the last two years.

His dead body has been kept at Bir Hospital.
