KATHMANDU: A partial solar eclipse is occurring on Sunday.

The solar eclipse will be visible from Nepal on June 21 (day of the dark moon also known as Aushi).

This partial eclipse will begin from 10:50 am on Sunday and will enter into the middle stage at 12:38 pm and last until 2:23 pm.

According to the Calendar Determination Committee, the eclipse lasts for 3 hours and 33 minutes. Astrologer Jayanta Acharya shared that 98 percent of the sun can be seen eclipsed from Limpiyadhura, Lipulek and Kalapani area of Nepal.

These territories are recently incorporated in Nepal’s political and administrative map.

However, the sun can be seen 88 percent covered by darkness in the Kathmandu Valley.

It is stated that those willing to watch the sun during the eclipse should compulsorily use protective glasses.

The Takshyasheela Academy of Samakhusi, Kathmandu has arranged facilities to watch the eclipse this time.

Similarly, Nepal Astronomical Society will manage live shows via YouTube channel to the aspirant ones.

The solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun.
