Fire claims one life in Gulmi

GULMI: A boy died when a grocery shop at Chandrakot rural municipality-4 caught fire today.

The deceased has been identified as Samir Khanal, 16, according to Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Raj Kumar Rawal. He died on the spot in the incident.

Similarly, Samir’s father Purna Bahadur, 45, mother Rupa, 45, and brother Sanjay, 21, were injured in the incident. The injured have been sent to Palpa-based Mission Hospital for treatment, said police.

Reason behind the incident is awaited. All goods in the shop were damaged by the fire, said Chairperson of Chandrakot rural municipality, Dorna Bahadur Khatri.
