After the meeting, Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun is said to have visited Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at latter’s residence in Khumaltar.

Amidst the growing differences between the party chairmen, the Council of Ministers had decided to introduce an ordinance that would pave way for split in party with at least 40 percent of members of Parliamentary Party or Central Committee on a side to make new party.

The government had earlier today decided to bring an ordinance to amend the Political Parties Act for changing a provision that requires at least 40 percent members of Parliamentary Party and Central Committee for splitting a political party.

The amendment will be made so that a new party can be split with at least 40 percent of members of Parliamentary Party or Central Committee.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held at Baluwatar on Monday decided to this effect.
