Govt decides to cut security to VIPs



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to cut security to VIPs.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to reduce the number of security personnel deployed for providing security to VIPs, according to a Cabinet minister.

The security personnel will be deployed for lockdown enforcement, the minister stated.

The government has been often criticized over the misuse of security personnel for the security of incumbent and former holders of high government posts.
