ECAA to raise fund for COVID-19-hit foreign students

KATHMANDU: Educational Consultants Association of Australia (ECAA), an umbrella organization of education consultants in Australia, has started generating fund through its consultant members and crowdfunding.

Organizing an online press meet on Sunday, the ECAA informed that it has begun generating fund to help the Nepali students suffering from financial problems caused by Coronavirus pandemic.

“Nepali students suffering from financial woes will be provided AUS $100,000 in the first phase in relief aid,” said PR Adhikari, president of ECAA.

Meanwhile, a committee has been formed under the coordination of former President Bibek Thapa to raise the fund.

ECAA has said it is constantly urging colleges and universities in Australia to give concession and other financial aid to the students.

Out of 43 Australian universities, 29 have announced relief packages to foreign students so far.
