Democrats will not oppose elections: PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has said people who want democracy will not oppose the election.

In a discussion with the Commissioners of the Election Commission (EC), Prime Minister Oli said that the government is now focused on holding elections and instructed the EC to focus on elections without any hesitation.

Prime Minister Oli told the meeting that people who want democracy do not oppose the election adding, “The government wants to hold free and fair election,” a sources quoted PM Oli as saying.

PM Oli asked the EC officials to inform the Finance Minister about the necessary requirements, including budget, sources said.

The EC Commissioners had told Prime Minister Oli that the EC needed budget, law, security and manpower to hold the elections.

In response, Prime Minister Oli assured them of all arrangements, and instructed them to prepare for the election with confidence.
