Dahal-Nepal faction ministers instructed to resign



KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have instructed the ministers close to them to resign after Prime Minister KP Oli recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Despite protests from some ministers, PM Oli recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives to President Bhandari on Sunday morning.

According to a NCP secretariat member, both Prachanda and Nepal have instructed the ministers close to him to resign.

Minister for Energy Barshaman Pun, Minister for Forests Shakti Basnet, Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Minister for Water Supply Bina Magar and Minister for Labor Rameshwar Ray Yadav are preparing to resign.

“After the dissolution of the parliament, we have decided to resign from the post,” said a minister. We will come with a decision after a standing committee meeting.”
