PM Oli returns from Shital Niwas after meeting with President

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has returned from Shital Niwas, the Office of the President, after meeting with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

PM Oli had reached the President’s Office soon after an emergency meeting of the cabinet decided to dissolve the House of Representatives this morning.

He had reached the President’s Office with the recommendation proposal to dissolve the parliament.

The Parliament will be dissolved if President Bidya Devi Bhandari approves the proposal of dissolving the House of Representatives.

The cabinet decision, meanwhile, is most likely to be challenged in the Supreme Court as the Constitution does not have a clear provision for the dissolution of the House.
