Dr Bhattarai calls PM Oli’s move unconstitutional and undemocratic

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Dr Babu Ram Bhattarai has termed Prime Minister KP Oli’s move to dissolve the House of Representatives as “unconstitutional” and “undemocratic”.

“This, in fact, is a reactionary step,” Dr Bhattarai said urging all political forces to fight back such an unconstitutional step of the government.

Dr Bhattarai’s reaction has come soon after PM Oli recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives on Sunday morning.

PM Oli recommended dissolution of the HoR amid escalating dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

A meeting of the Cabinet held Sunday morning recommended for dissolution of the Parliament, according to a Cabinet minister.

Minister for Energy Barsha Man Pun confirmed that PM Oli recommended for the dissolution of the parliament.
