PM Oli at Shital Niwas with recommendation to dissolve Parliament

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reached Shital Niwas, the Office of the President, after deciding to dissolve the House of Representatives from an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday morning.

PM Oli reached the President’s Office with the ’emergency’ meeting of the cabinet decision to send a proposal to dissolve the parliament to the President.

The Parliament will be dissolved if President Bidya Devi Bhandari approves the proposal of dissolving the House of Representatives.

The cabinet decision is most likely to be challenged in the Supreme Court as the Constitution does not have a clear provision for the dissolution of the House.
