 Pokhara records seven additional COVID-19 deaths

POKHARA: Seven more people including six from Pokhara alone have died from coronavirus in Gandaki Pradesh in the period of 12 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, a 71-year-old man died in the course of treatment at Gandaki Medical College at the wee hours of Friday.

Originally from Pokhara Metropolitan City-27, the septuagenarian had tested positive for coronavirus on November 14.  The patient was also suffering from pneumonia.

Similarly, a 54-year-old man of Pokhara Metropolitan City-8, Kaski died while undergoing treatment at Gandaki Hospital at 3:50 am today.

The patient had been hospitalized after testing positive for the virus on November 8. He was also suffering from hypertension and kidney-related ailments.

A 51-year-old man of Tanahu passed away in the course of treatment at Gandaki Medical College at 9:30 am today. He had tested positive for the virus on November 18.

Likewise, the other deceased are three men aged 68, 75 and 29 of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski. The first two died on Thursday night while the other succumbed to the virus at 12:30 pm today. According to the hospital administration, they were also suffering from pneumonia and diabetes.

Similarly, a 55-year-old man of Pokhara Metropolitan City-13 died in the course of treatment at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences at 4:15 am today. The pneumonia and kidney patient tested positive for the pandemic this morning.

With this, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Gandaki Pradesh has reached 138.
