KATHMANDU: Three more people including an octogenarian have died from coronavirus in different places of the country.
A COVID-19 infected woman has died from COVID-19 in the course of treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital in Sudurpaschim Pradesh.
A 75-year-old woman, who was hospitalized on November 14 after she complained of respiratory complications, breathed her last Friday morning. She had tested positive for the virus during a PCR test in the course of treatment.
Originally from Gauriganga municipality-7, the septuagenarian passed away at 10 am today, said the hospital administration.
The kidney patient was being treated on ventilator.
Similarly, a man has died from COVID-19 in Morang district on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as an 88-year-old man of Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-5, Sunsari.
The octogenarian who tested positive for the virus on November 12 succumbed to the disease in the course of treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital in Budhiganga rural municipality at 5:50 am today, said Sunil Dev, the chief of the isolation ward.
The elderly had been suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, according to Sunil Dev.
Likewise, outgoing Chairman of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) Amar Man Shakya has died from COVID-19 in Kathmandu.
Shakya, 70, succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment at Om Hospital at 3 am today, informed HAN member Yuba Raj Shrestha. Shakya who tested positive for the virus on Dashain festival had also developed pneumonia.
Shakya is the proprietor of Amar Hotel based at Soltimod in the capital.
He had been admitted to Om Hospital few days ago after his health condition deteriorated. He is survived by a son.
