2,600 ICUs across country, there won’t be shortage of equipment: Health Minister



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal said that arrangements have been made to prevent a shortage of necessary medicines and equipment for COVID-19 treatment.

Speaking at a regular press briefing of the Ministry on Tuesday, Minister Dhakal said that 2,600 ICUs were being prepared across the country and claimed that there would be no shortage of equipment.

He also said that work is underway to prepare 400 more ICUs.

Minister Dhakal said that the work of setting up 3,500 high dependency units with oxygen and monitors has been expedited across the country.

However, most of the hospitals in the capital are full of ICU beds. Hospitals have not been able to admit newly-infected people in the ICU.
