Morang records 7 deaths linked with COVID-19 in past 24 hours



BIRATNAGAR: As many as seven persons have died due to coronavirus infections at five different hospitals in Biratnagar.

Three persons died at the Koshi Hospital COVID-19 Treatment Center and one each at the isolation of Neuro Hospital, Virat Nursing Home, Nobel and Virat Medical College. Among the dead, five are females while two are males.

A 21-year-old woman of Morang Katahari Gaonpalika-2 Adarsh ​​Tol died at Koshi COVID-19 Treatment Center at around 5.30 this morning.

According to Gyan Bahadur Basnet, manager of the center, she tested positive for PCR on Sunday and was admitted for treatment on the same day.

A 64-year-old woman of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-12 has died at Koshi Hospital in the morning. She was admitted for treatment on Monday.

A 38-year-old man of Itahari Sub-metropolis-5 of Sunsari has died at Koshi COVID-19 Hospital on Monday evening. He was admitted to COVID-19 Hospital on Monday afternoon with respiratory problems.

Similarly, an old man from Rangeli of Morang died at Virat Nursing Home. An 85-year-old man of Rangeli Municipality-3 has died while undergoing treatment. He died at the hospital around 12 pm on Monday.

An elderly woman who was being treated at the Neuro Hospital died on Tuesday morning. A 64-year-old woman of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-10 died at 5 in the morning, according to the hospital.

Similarly, a 69-year-old woman of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-7 has died at Nobel Medical College. The woman, who tested positive for corona, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. Hospital manager Narayan Dahal informed that he died at around 8 this morning while undergoing treatment.

Similarly, a 76-year-old infected woman of Jhapa Birtamod-4 has died in isolation of Virat Teaching Hospital in Budhiganga village of Morang district. According to the hospital’s isolation in-charge Sunil Dev, she died at around 8.30 am on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a person has died at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. A 56-year-old man from Itahari Sunsari has died, said Dr Ashish Shrestha, co-spokesperson of the foundation. He was admitted to BP Pratisthan on Monday and died at around 9.30 pm.
