KATHMANDU: Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday night.
Held in Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Rajasthan reached the target of 126 runs set by Chennai with the loss of three wickets in 17.3 overs.
Rajasthan’s JC Buttler top-scored with 70 runs studded with seven fours and two sixes off 48 runs and remained unbeaten.
Similarly, captain SPD Smith made 26 runs off 34 balls.
In reply, Chennai’s DL Chahar and JR Hazlewood took two and one wicket each of Rajasthan.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Chennai had notched up 125 runs losing five wickets in the the allotted 20 overs.
Chennai’s RA Jadeja, MS Dhoni and SM Curran made 35, 28 and 22 runs respectively. Rajasthan’s JC Archer, JC Archer, JC Archer and R Tewatia grabbed one wicket each of Chennai.
With this win, Rajasthan has attained the fifth position with eight points from 10 games.
