Two more persons die of COVID-19 in Birgunj



BIRGUNJ:  Two more persons have died of COVID-19 in Birgunj.

The deceased have been identified as a 78-year-old of Birgunj Metropolitan City-4 and 88-year-old of Birgunj Metropolitan City-6.

The 78-year-old died while undergoing treatment at the National Medical College Temporary Corona Hospital (Baba Hotel Isolation) at 4 pm on Saturday, said Dr Arsaf Hussain, a COVID-19 focal person.

He was admitted to the hospital on September 16 after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. He was suffering from paralysis and chronic liver disease. He also had high blood pressure.

“He was suffering from paralysis as well as chronic diseases such as liver failure,” said Dr Hussein.

Along with the corona infection, he also had kidney problems.

According to the District Administration Office, Parsa, an 88-year-old resident of Birgunj-6 also died of COVID-19.

Dr. Uday Narayan Singh informed that he died at Narayani Hospital at 12.15 am on Sunday.

He was diagnosed with high blood pressure, kidney, asthma and heart disease.

With this, the number of deaths due to corona infection in Birgunj has reached 63.
