Two succumb to coronavirus in Chitwan

CHITWAN: Two coronavirus infected persons died on Sunday while receiving treatment at the Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.

A 55-year-old man from Kalika Municipality in Chitwan and a 17-year-old girl from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City in Makawanpur succumbed to the coronavirus.

Prof Dr Dayaram Lamsal, Director of the College, informed that the girl was admitted to the hospital on September 9 after she developed fever and respiratory-related complication.

The girl was tested positive for the virus on September 11. According to Dr Lamsal, the man was also suffering from pneumonia and complained of respiratory related problem.

He was tested positive for coronavirus infection on September 19 and breathed his last on Sunday while receiving treatment at the hospital’s ICU bed.

So far, 14 infected persons died in the hospital.

A total of 33 persons succumbed to the virus in the hospitals in Chitwan and 18 of them are the residents of Chitwan.
