Nepal’s COVID-19 toll hits 411 with 10 more deaths



KATHMANDU: A total of 10 more COVID-19 patients, including six in Kathmandu Valley, died in the last 24 hours.

Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population stated that the death toll from the pandemic has reached 411 with the new fatalities.

Four men and six women succumbed to the coronavirus, according to the Ministry.

Three females — aged 40, 60, and 63 — and one male of 82-years old succumbed to coronavirus in Kathmandu, the Ministry said.

Likewise, a 75-year-old woman died in Lalitpur, and a 72-year-old in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

Likewise, an 80-year-old man in Chitwan succumbed to the coronavirus. Similarly, a 76-year-old male died in Dhanusha, according to the Ministry of Health.

Similarly, a 67-year-old man succumbed to the coronavirus in Rupandehi, and a woman, 40, in Palpa.

Earlier on Saturday, Nepal had recorded 11 deaths from the pandemic.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,325 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry.

The coronavirus tally has reached 64,122 with the fresh cases, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said on Sunday afternoon.

He added that the new cases were detected when 9,584 samples were tested in laboratories across the country. Nepal has carried out 9,14,290 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests so far.

A total of 17,478 people are currently under isolation. Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 8407 people are in home isolation and 9,071in institutional isolation facilities.

Likewise, 7,451 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.
