Nepal reports 1,325 new coronavirus cases, tally reaches 64,122



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,325 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours, according to Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population.

The coronavirus tally has reached 64,122 with the fresh cases, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said on Sunday afternoon.

He added that the new cases were detected when 9,584 samples were tested in laboratories across the country. Nepal has carried out 9,14,290 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests so far.

A total of 17,478 people are currently under isolation. Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 8407 people are in home isolation and 9,071in institutional isolation facilities.

Likewise, 7,451 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

According to Dr. Gautam, 966 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 46,233 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 72 percent, he added.

Meanwhile, 10 persons lost their lives to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. The total death toll has reached 411 in the country.
