Surge of COVID-19 infected persons in Valley’s hospitals



KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus infected persons admitted to the hospitals in Kathmandu Valley for treatment is increasing on an every day basis.

More than 2,000 COVID-19 infected people are being treated in 22 hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out of 2,058 persons, 1,915 persons are receiving treatment in isolation, 110 in ICU, and 33 on ventilators.

Out of 22 hospitals, 446 people are receiving treatment at the Nepal Police Hospital. Of the total infected, 442 are in isolation and 4 in ICU.

The highest number of 432 infected people are being treated at Ichangu Narayan Isolation Center, Raniban. There are 170 people in isolation in the Kirtipur Ayurveda Hospital.

According to the Ministry, 153 people are being treated at the APF Hospital. Out of them, 143 persons in isolation, 11 in ICU, and 5 in ventilators.

Similarly, 101 people are being treated in Bir Hospital including 92 in isolations, 8 in ICU, and a person on a ventilator.

Patan Institute of Health Sciences Lalitpur is treating 95 infected people including 88 persons in isolation, 6 in ICUs, and 1 ventilator, 61 persons in Mahesh Manmohan Hospital Dahachowk.

Similarly, the Sukraraj Tropical and Communicable Disease Hospital has been treating 53 coronavirus infected persons including 30 in isolation in Teku, 18 in ICU, and 5 on ventilators.

There are 87 patients at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital while 67 persons at Kathmandu Model College Duwakot, and 33 at the Dhulikhel Hospital.

Similarly, 90 persons in Shree Birendra Hospital including 72 isolation and 18 ICUs, 13 in Bhaktapur Hospital COVID-19 Treatment Center, 80 inKharipati Isolation Center, 2 in Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center Kavre, 6 in Sheer Memorial Adventist Hospital Banepa, 22 in Grande International Hospital including 13 persons in isolation, 4 in ICUs and 5 in Ventilators and 48 in Megha Hospital are being treated.

Similarly, 22 persons in Star Hospital, Lalitpur including 18 in isolations, 2 in ICUs and 2 in ventilators, 43 persons in HAMS hospital, 26 in Norvik International Hospital, and 3 in Kanti Children’s Hospital are receiving treatment.
