KANCHANPUR: The District Administration Office, Kanchanpur has issued a prohibitory order until August 30 with effect from 12:00 am on Friday.

The prohibitory order that was issued in line with the infectious disease and local administration act followed increasing cases of COVID-19 infection and upcoming Teej and Gaura festivals that generally draw a crowd of people for celebration, said Chief District Officer Nur Hari Khatiwada.

During the prohibition, all services except emergency ones will be closed, he said.

Meanwhile, Bhimdatta municipality in Kanchanpur district has purchased a PCR machine. The machine costs Rs 3.8 million. The municipality will hand over the machine to Mahakali Hospital in a few days for operation, said the municipality.
