KARNALI: Chief Minister of Karnali State Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said that every citizen should be honest to stop the spread of coronavirus infection.

At a program organized here today on the occasion of the State’s establishment and Martyrs Day, the Chief Minister said that the infection won’t spread much if every citizen abided by the safety measures.

He was of the view that strict measures would be applied in the entry points to prevent the spread of the second wave of coronavirus in the districts of Karnali.

“India returnees have been directly quarantined while people coming in from different places should appear with their PCR report,” he said, adding that the major challenges now are those individuals involved in goods transportation since seeking PCR report every day was not likely from them.

Shahi expressed concerns for high risks from those transportation laborers.

Arguing that the lone effort of the government was not possible for the containment of the virus, he said the citizens should be equally responsible.

The best way to remain safe from the coronavirus infection is to put on face mask, he emphasized while asking people to maintain physical distance.

On a different note, the Chief Minister said that the State Government was ready to materialize the dreams of the martyrs.

We could not mark this historical day with much fanfare due to coronavirus-induced situation, he said. The State has announced a public holiday in the districts of the Karnali for today. RSS
