Kharipati quarantine converted into 200-bed isolation camp



KATHMANDU: The Kharipati-based quarantine facility of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) which had earlier been used to quarantine Nepalis rescued from Wuhan City of China has been converted into an isolation camp.

A 200-bed isolation camp has been brought into operation at Kharipati in Changunarayan municipality-7 of Bhaktapur.

District Administration Office, Bhaktapur has converted the quarantine camp into the isolation camp in coordination with Birdal Battalion as per the order of the government, informed Dr Sumitra Gautam, superintendent of Bhaktapur District Hospital.

“Even though there are 200 beds in the camp, only 100 beds are in operation now,” said Gautam.

The Kharipati-based quarantine camp has been converted into an isolation camp at the initiation of Minister for Social Development of Bagmati Pradesh Yuba Raj Dulal.
