Lidi landslide: 28 bodies retrieved, 11 still missing



SINDHUPALCHOWK: Three more dead bodies have been retrieved from the Lidi landslide of Jugal rural municipality-2 in Sindhupalchowk district.

With this, the number of bodies recovered from the Lidi landslide has reached 28. Security personnel are searching the remaining 11 missing people.

Police Inspector Hari Bhattarai of Area Police Office, Jalbire said the bodies of one minor boy and two women have been recovered today.

The bodies of five-year-old Sanu Kanchha Dong, 42-year-old Jibirani Dong and 18-year-old Lalita Dong have been recovered.

The rescue team has retrieved 28 bodies so far. Among them, 15 are males and 13 are females.

As many as 39 people had gone missing in the landslide that struck Lidi village in Jugal rural municipality on August 14.
