Lamichhane’s team Jamaica Tallawah beats Saint Lucia by 5 wickets



KATHMANDU: Nepali youth spinner Sandeep Lamichhane’s team Jamaica Tallawah made a flying start by registering a five-wicket win against Saint Lucia Zouks in its first match under the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) held on Wednesday.

Jamaica Tallawah reached the target of 159 runs set by Saint Lucia in 18.5 overs.

Lamichhane grabbed one wicket of Saint Lucia Zouks in the last over of his four-over spell by giving away 23 runs. He had sent Afghan player Najibullah Zadran to the pavilion.  Zadran was out 25 runs that he had collected in 20 balls.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Saint Lucia Zouks had made 158 runs losing seven wickets.

Roston Chase contributed 52 runs including four fours and sixes in 42 balls for Saint Lucia Zouks. Similarly, Jamaica’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Oshane Thomas took two wickets each.
