Dillibazar-based prison house collapses



KATHMANDU: An old prison building based at Charkhal in Dillibazar has collapsed.

The jail building situated near the main gate collapsed on Friday evening.

The inmate house that was in a dilapidated condition since 2015 mega earthquake caved in due to monsoon occurring since the last few days, police said.

However no casualties were reported in the incident.

The road was disrupted for some time due to prison collapse and the debris was removed by using an excavator, said SSP Shyam Lal Gyawali, chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu.
