Finance Minister assures of promoting private sector

Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada has pledged to take the private sector into confidence in its efforts for reviving the economy affected by COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking at the National Assembly, Finance Minister Dr Khatiwada said Nepal’ post-earthquake experiences to rebuild and reconstruction could be useful in tackling the post-COVID crisis.

He said Nepal has some good aspects of the economy amid the crisis as the relations broke up in the labor market will be re-harmonized and the supply chain will be made accessible.

Saying that the imports are gradually improving, he said that the government was coming up with loan and tax concession provisions by taking the private sector into confidence.

Rasuwa checkpoint to resume one-way

China has agreed to resume the Rasuwagadhi checkpoint that has remained shut for the last five months.

The one-way transport service will resume, according to the Custom Department. A large number of container vans have been stuck on the Chinese side.

China has agreed to open one-way traffic at the request of the Nepali entrepreneurs, said the Custom Department.

It is learnt that over 1,000 container vans have been stuck on the China side. Rasuwa checkpoint has been closed since January19.

Disrupted Kulekhani road resumes

The Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu road, which was disrupted due to landslides, has resumed from today. The traffic operation was obstructed when a landslide occurred at Bhimphedi rural municiplaity-6, Chisapani last night.

The road section has come to resumption since this morning, informed Police Inspector at Bhimphedi area police office Ram Balak Yadav.

Vehicular movement along Kathmandu-Hetauda was disrupted on Thursday due to the landslides. Technicians were mobilized along with the equipment to clear the debris following the landslides.
