Kathmandu Valley’s garbage to be collected



KATHMANDU: The garbage of the Kathmandu Valley is to be collected regularly after the Kathmandu metropolis agrees to conduct coronavirus tests on the Sisdol locals.

The garbage collection had been hit after Kakani rural municipality blocked all the vehicles except for ambulances demanding coronavirus tests on the locals.

A meeting held between Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and the representatives of Kakani rural municipality on Monday agreed to let the vehicles dump garbage in the Sisdole landfill site.

Likewise, the Sisdole locals agreed to allow garbage trucks after the Kathmandu metropolis assured that Coronavirus tests would be carried out on the Sisdole locals.

Shakya said the metropolis will send a medical team to Kakani rural municipality to conduct RDT and PCR tests on the locals as per the decision.
