Govt sets up ‘cross verification’ centers in Nepalgunj and Dharan

KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has set up ‘cross-verification’ centers in Nepalgunj and Dharan.

These centers will now perform the cross-check of the tests \performed earlier in various test centers.

Earlier, it was performed at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu only.

Speaking at the regular press briefing, Dr. Bikash Devkota, spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population, said that Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test has begun at the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital, which also performed the ‘cross-verification’ of the COVID-19 test and the Dharan-based BP Koirala Health Science Academy.

According to the Health Ministry, with the addition of Bheri Hospital, the country now has 15 laboratories to carry out PCR tests.
