Tension grips Barhabise after sheds demolished, curfew clamped

SINDHUPALCHOK: District Administration Office, Sindhupalchok has clamped a curfew in Barhabise Municipality from 8 am on Sunday morning.

The curfew has been enforced in wards 3, 4 and 9 of the municipality following disputes over demolitions of makeshift sheds.

The curfew will be enforced till 5 pm today, Chief District Officer Goma Devi Chemjong said in a statement.

Traders had protested before Barhabise Municipality Office on Saturday after the municipality demolished their sheds. They had prepared to padlock the municipality office today.
