KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is going to hold a demonstration in the Kathmandu Valley on January 1 demanding restoration of the Hindu nation and monarchy.
Addressing a gathering of Valley level leaders and cadres in Kathmandu on Saturday, RPP Chairman Pashupati Shumsher Rana said that the Hindu nation and the monarchy should be restored.
He said that RPP has already staged mass demonstrations in Jhapa, Makwanpur, and Mahottari districts and is going to hold demonstrations in Kathmandu on January 1.
He also said that the present majority government was abusing the will of the people and that the movement was necessary to put pressure on the government to restore the Hindu nation and monarchy in the country.
Chairman Rana said that RPP had to take to the streets as the government had failed to control inflation and corruption and prevent organized religious conversion.
On the occasion, another Chairperson Kamal Thapa said that RPP supported the spontaneous demonstration in favor of the monarchy and the Hindu nation and would lead the upcoming movement.
