CDOs authorized to issue prohibitory order in districts with over 500 active cases

KATHMANDU: A prohibitory order could be issued in districts with over 500 active coronavirus cases.

The government has given the authority to the Chief District Officers to suspend any service or work in the whole district or any part of the district.

Chief District Officers have also been given the power to regulate, manage and control the movement of vehicles from other districts to districts with over 200 active cases, said government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung.

Likewise, the government has decided to shut down the international border until November 15.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers had decided to that effect.

However, 13 border points adjoining India are opened for Nepalis to return home, said Minister Gurung.
