NC lawmakers return Rs 4.3 million Dashain allowance



KATHMANDU: After criticism from several quarters, all the federal parliamentarians of the Nepali Congress (NC) have decided to return the amount received for the Dashain allowance.

According to NC Chief Whip Bal Krishna Khand, it has been decided to return the total amount of Rs 4.3 million.

The party had decided to deposit the amount in the Corona Fund established by the Government of Nepal through the Federal Parliament Secretariat for the treatment of the people.

Earlier today, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba had directed all NC lawmakers not to take Dashain allowance and refund it if already taken.
