KATHMANDU: The state-owned Food Management and Trading Company has started selling goats for Dashain festival from today (Monday).

Even though the Trading Company had planned to sell goats from Sunday, it has started selling only from today, said Shreemani Raj Khanal, departmental chief of the trading company.

“Two hundred goats were brought to Kathmandu on Saturday. We are selling them from Monday after giving them a one-day rest,” said Khanal.

Khanal said the price of live he-goat and mountain goat will be cheaper by Rs10 per kg compared to the market rate. The company fixed the price of the goats on yesterday.
